The film follows in the ancient tradition of the Sufi mystics, prophets and philosophers who inspired humanity with short memorable teaching stories. ‘Three Strange Stories’ contains multiple layers of meaning projecting the Director’s point of view on human existence and current world problems. The film contains references to verbal and visual symbols that are common in the ancient Sufi mystic tradition of Asia. The film contains three short stories. ‘The Classroom Prophet’ is a story about perceived religious differences between human beings. ‘The 10 Plagues of Egypt’ is about current human beliefs, actions and their consequences. ‘The Destiny of Water’ is about the fear of death and what lies beyond, and the purpose of creation and existence itself. The movie is presented with the objective to inspire insights and self-reflection amongst viewers from all cultures and religious backgrounds. |
