“Here the World Changes” chronicles the story of a non-profit summer basketball camp which, for the past sixteen years, has taken place in the small coastal village of Kiveri, Greece. Amidst crisis after crisis, youth unemployment near fifty percent, and an overwhelming sense of helplessness amongst many in Greece, John Karkalatos, a Toronto-native and now resident of the village, has used basketball as a tool to teach thousands of children important values for success such as self-respect, teamwork, discipline, national pride and the true meaning of freedom. Here, on this small court in this small village, Greece is changing for the better.
