Portlandia is a follow up to the Fred Armisen (SNL)/Carrie Brownstein comedy collaboration, Thunderant. In the new IFC series (executive- produced by Lorne Michaels), the pair lovingly skewer the people and values of Portland, Ore. by introducing us to Portland archetypes like a militant bike messenger, feminist bookstore owners and an arts & crafts couple who "put birds on things."

I have watched this series more than a few times its so enjoyably funny for me. Feels like a classically well executed format with all the monty python kids in the hall style cross gender dressing and hyper exaggerated characters and stereotypes.
Its just good clean fun that doesn’t offend and pokes fun at any and everything without obvious limits.
Then again i may have a soft spot for this type of format having been exposed to it often and early in life.
Still i can see myself viewing this plenty more times in the future on some semi regular schedule as my memory of it fades and is ready for a refresher experience.
Its short format so don’t be daunted by trying it out for the first time.
