Set against the backdrop of The Vertical City of Hong Kong, The Expatriates is a drama series that will explore the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community: where affluence is celebrated, friendships are intense but knowingly temporary, and personal lives, deaths and marriages are played out publicly — then retold with glee. |

starts slow. Then really picks up. it isn’t until the last 15 minutes of ep.2 that we discover what happened and how the event changed everyone. Great views of Hong Kong - interesting city.
Agreed - was quite looking forward to this. Totally picks up the ‘expat wife’ vibe. This was my role for a long time. Really dislike the way Amazon Prime drip feeds the episodes - always annoys me. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
agreed. The police were so sloppy in their investigation. They should have been looking at who she was texting while the family were all having dinner. I bet the disappearance/kidnap was linked to this person.
I’m enjoying this so far and Jack Houston is in it so it should have at least a 7 rating imo. Nicole has an excellent cosmetic surgeon but it might be time to give up the young mother roles. I wonder what she eats in a day to stay so skinny. Good show, tho, with nice scenes of Hong Kong.
I do like Nicole Kidman and might watch a couple of episodes.
watched this hoping to see some familiar sites from Hong Kong + has Nicole Kidman but got as far as ep3 b4 the cloyingly overdone drama grated on my nerves, life’s too short time to drop. 4/10
