I love martial arts. I would really like this show if the rap music didnt exist so much in it. It just doesnt fit to me. This show would be great if the music wasnt targeting a certain race and wasnt annoyying every step of the way because of it

What are you on about? It’s fine to not be a fan of a genre, but Hip Hop and martial arts have been intertwined for decades now. I’m most disappointed they didn’t get the RZA to produce the tracks, and there’s not a Wu Tang Clan cameo. You’ve obviously never been to the Bay, where this series takes place - Hip Hop is easily the most popular music in the area. Besides that, “targeting a certain race”? The actual musical artists in this series are pretty diverse, and Hip Hop is America’s biggest export since baseball. There are Hip Hop scenes From Beijing to Bangladesh, Baghdad to Belize. Where do you live, a cornfield in Iowa? You do know that statistically, the most sales of Hip Hop records in America are to 15-19 year old Caucasian females, right?

I dont mean to offend anyone. I am not into rap or hip hop that doesnt make me bad or you bad because you like it. Pick a music you didnt like no matter what it was and put it into every show that you see or interact with even where it doesnt fit. Sometimes blue doesnt look good on a person but the blue sky is still beautiful. i am just not a fan and dont like hearing it at every turn. not everyone will like what you might.

No I totally hear that, and trust me, right there with you for the amount of hardcore rock and techno that I feel like has been overused in a lot of martial arts movies and TV - everything from Mortal Kombat, to the Matrix. Still, I enjoyed both of those. I guess I don’t understand why race has to be thrown in here? Just as there’s a ton of Americans, of all races, that are into K-pop, I don’t think it’s fair to say Hip Hop music targets any one race or demographic.

race has to do with everything even if its not a big deal to us. Example if they wanted more black or latino viewers, they would play there music. Tv is for programing. On youtube they will show one girl that cut herself as a way of dealing with pain and make sure every teen on youtube sees it. There is an agenda. It is fair to say that race has to to with it. Thats television they know exactly how many people and there race watch anything at any given time
