The show follows Sister Clodagh and the nuns of St Faiths, who travel to Nepal to set up a branch of their order in the remote palace of Mopu. It will tell the story of the nuns' sexual repression which forms the spine of the story, as Sister Clodagh finds herself increasingly attracted to the handsome and damaged land agent, Mr. Dean. |

This arrives in late November and Diana Rigg is in this series. This is her last tv appearance and she had a part in a movie; Last Night in Soho which will be released in April of 2021. When this series start, I shall be watching.
She also had a delightful role in this year’s “All Creatures Great and Small” as the overly indulgent ‘mother’ of a spoiled and very well fed Pekingese. If I remember correctly, they dedicated the show to her.
Well, that wasn’t anything to get excited about. I thot that with FX being involved there would be a bit more pizazz but it was just a slow, routine kind of BBC drama. I’d give it maybe a 6/10 for decent acting and production but wouldn’t bother to watch if I’d known better.
ahhh well, I don’t mind slow, so I will give it a go. I spent time in Nepal, and my sister lived there for years. Just for the scenery, and the culture, I will watch.
In that case, you’ll prob. like it— it was OK, more or less. Some gorgeous scenery shots in it, fer sure.
I really enjoyed this, nostalgic and reminiscent of several BW movies with the same atmosphere in the 50’s. I liked that it was slow. My choice would have been to apply the Technicolor palette and just run with it as an old time movie because everything about it feels like it was filmed in the 50’s.
