Finally season 2 will be released but we’re still going to have to wait until October 15th! In World on Fire Season 2, RAF pilots are sent to destroy German bombers prowling the skies above Manchester, with rescue operations underway on the streets below. The true reality of war has arrived in Britain. Telling the story of World War II through the eyes of ordinary people whose lives have been thrown into chaos, Season 2 will take viewers from the streets of Britain into occupied France, Nazi Germany, and to the sands of the North African desert, where British troops struggle alongside Indian Sappers and Australian Diggers to adapt to a very different kind of combat.
I can’t believe this came out in 2019 time sure does fly at times. It also feels like it’s been a really long time though.
British dramas tend to wait a couple of years before releasing the next season. It’s frustrating for sure and I usually have to go back and watch the last episode of the previous year to remember what happened. Of course the pandemic probably also halted filming. The 2nd season was supposed to be released April 5, 2021 but as you can see, that didn’t happen.
wow that’s interesting to hear.
It does appear there will be a season 2. I love movies and dramas about WWII and this one doesn’t disappoint. “Season 2 is expected to premiere in late 2021 or early 2022.”
I really liked this drama AND there will be a 2nd season! “The BBC’s newest wartime drama has captured and fascinated viewers worldwide. So when the final episode ended with a cliffhanger, fans were left wanting. Thankfully, and unsurprisingly, the British broadcasting giant has now confirmed a second season will go ahead.”
I know we all were wanting a season 3 because we were somewhat left us hanging. Some sad news! “The historical drama World on Fire will not be returning for a third season on PBS and BBC, as Masterpiece executive producer Susanne Simpson has disclosed during the TV Critics Association winter press tour this Monday. The BBC decided not to renew the series for various reasons that have not been explicitly stated.” It would be nice if the BBC did a tv movie and wrap things up instead of leaving us hanging in the wind!
My last posting about this WWII drama stated season 2 would come out in October. WELL! A great surprise, season 2 dropped on July 16th. Another one that I’ll need to rewatch before starting the 2nd season. And another one to watch if the Hollywood strike continues for months!
Sure hope they following up with season 3. I feel like I was left hanging.
