In this programme, we visit the Wildlife Rescue Centre near Alloa, where specialist vet Romain Pizzi visits once a week. On this visit he examines seals, a swan, an owl, a sparrowhawk and hedgehogs, amongst others - some make it and some don't, and Romain has to make these difficult decisions. At Ardene House, visiting equine specialist vet Graham Munroe examines a retired fell pony who is going blind in one eye. Hanna spent her working life working amongst royalty on the Balmoral Estate and it is only recently that she has begun to have trouble with her eye. Graham needs to decide whether she needs to have her eye removed or not. In Wick, vet Iain Maclean examines an alsatian with a large lump in its ear and needs to decide if surgery is going to be a solution. Once Brandy is on the theatre table, though, he discovers more than he expected. |
