Based on Anne Rice's iconic and bestselling novel, Interview with the Vampire follows Louis de Pointe, Lestat de Lioncourt and Claudia's epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality, as told to the journalist Daniel Molloy. Chafing at the limitations of life as a Black man in New Orleans in the early 1900s, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat de Lioncourt's offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis's intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat's newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement. |

I don’t see how it can beat the movie.. Some things should be left alone
From the trailer it looks generic and forgettable, nothing is sacred anymore.
Amen
lmao I’m for sure going to watch it now.
Releases October 2, 2022. 8 episodes in lenghth, I’ve read that the timeline has been slightly adjusted and the homophobes will have even more reason to complain about how woke it is. Like it wasn’t woke already with the portrayal of a same sex vampire couple raising a daughter. Personally. I don’t feel like this needed a remake, but it will be interesting to see how this works as a series.
Today’s poor movie/TV show quality standards give reason for the anti-woke chuds to blame it on wokeness. Nobody is calling the new Predator movie woke for having a lead female character because it’s a good movie.
Actually, they were. I took a screenshot of a comment on a YT movie trailer channel where someone complained about a girl being able to take down a Predator. That comment had over 600 likes and more than 450 replies where plenty of guys were whining about woke Hollywood and their agendas. You can see the trolls running rampant now on every trailer for the new LOTR show. Contempt prior to investigation is never a good look and it’s something I try to avoid. The recent remake of A League of Their Own is a great example of a remake that stands completely on its own merits. Even if a remake is not to my liking, it takes nothing away from the original. No harm, no foul.
Exactly. If you feel nothing can hold a candle to any original there’s no reason to defend it.
I can’t stand a lot of the woke crap myself, but the new predator flick was great, and that chick rocked. I watched that on a site that had comments, and was defending the heck out of that chick, the comments against her were totally idiotic, and most made no real sense.
She was actually the one that made the whole freaking movie as far as I was concerned, and by the time she was done, she should have been made the tribes head warrior!
S’all good, let ‘em cancel away, never was scared of the PC movement, and am not about to be now. But I get what you’re saying, and sarcasm noted.
And something else that should be pointed out, someone else said this a while back here on another post about movies, and it was a great point, it seems like you can’t be just ‘meh’ about a movie anymore, you have to be totally loving it, or hating it. You can’t be just, ‘Well, it was O.K., liked it, but nothing to really brag about’, because people will go off on you. There seems to be a lot of truth in that now.
If you’re not with one crowd or the other, you hate or love it, you tend to get despised or bullied over that. Utterly ridiculous how people act sometimes over a freaking movie…
Hear! Hear! *ad nauseam lol
Yay! Second season, what a lovely Mothers’ Day gift. Thank you❣️
I already don’t like it
Come on now.. you know we have to watch it to complain about it 😃 That’s the fun part
Hate watching has got to be the most asinine and pointless thing I’ve ever heard of.
Not hate watching.. just watching. Shows often surprise. The ones you think will be great are crap and vice versa. You never know until you break out the popcorn and turn up the volume.
Lol
Oh, gee…it the remake/reboot of the gawd awful “Interview with a Vampire” movie, not only that but it’s another “based on the novel by…” series (which is always a Red Flag).
The entire Anne Rice vampire novel series was absolute total dreck. I always tell people who thought it was good? Read author Brian Lumley’s “Necroscope” and “Blood Wars” series. Now THOSE are some GREAT Vampire/Wamphyri creatures that put Anne Rice’ “vampires” to shame.
Yeah, those horrible “based on the novel by…” series. Game of Thrones, The Witcher, Good Omens, Watchmen, Dexter, A Handmaid’s Tale. I love how people speak as if their opinion is the definitive one. Given that Rice has sold over 130 million books, I doubt she is losing sleep at night because you don’t like her work. Comparing Rice’s books to Lumley’s is like comparing apples to oranges. Yeah, they’re both fruits, but they taste nothing alike. Some prefer apples, some oranges. Some like one, but have no like for the other and just because you don’t care for something doesn’t mean that it has no value.
Well said, grasshopper rex. Anne definitely isn’t losing sleep, given that she passed back in December. . . Seriously, I’m excited to see where this goes. A lot of “based on the novel by” end up being good. Not all, of course.
Never once did I state that all movies and tv series with the mention of “Based on the Novel by..” were terrible, merely that it is a “Red Flag” (and often disappointing to the fans of the novel/novel series). Second of all…never stated that my opinion here was the “definitive one”, that was your interpretation. Yeah, I am sure that Anne Rice isn’t losing any sleep over any opposing views about her novels, since she has been dead for quite a while.
As far as Brian L:umley’s work and his Vampires characters? They make Anne Rice’s vampires look like the characters out of “Twilight”.
That’s just too funny.
Brian Lumley’s books are generic and boring to be honest. I read a few of his books hoping they’d get better. But nope. Tossed them out and never read another one.
You Didn’t like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and young Kirsten Dunst!? Now that has to be an unpopular opinion. One of my favorite movies.
LOL…well said
This show is alright. Mostly forgettable. The Book and the Movie are leaps and bounds better.
