Not bad so far. It was filmed in Spain. Beautiful cinematography.
The best westerns were filmed in Spain
Kept me completely enrapt from start to finish. If you enjoy a revenge-driven Western featuring characters from opposite walks of life being thrown together for a common cause, and aren’t bothered by a little bit of sentimentality here and there, you might enjoy this.
Very good, worth the watch.
A BBC produced western that takes place in the USA. The trailer looks interesting and all 6 episodes have dropped. Might binge watch this western over the weekend.
Premiers tonight.
Lots of stereotypes defied here. Looks like you either love it or hate it. I think it’s fantastic and I’m giving it a couple of epis.
zzzzzzzz.. WTH?? very disappointing. the writing is just bad and unoriginal.
Personally, I’ve never seen anything like this. You must be very worldly and hoarding all the original scripts.
You’ve never seen a revenge western? What rock have you been living under?
Touche Alien, touche! It is rather refreshing to see the media industry to do westerns the way they should have been done! The Native Americans have been portrayed in a bad way since Hollywood started making movies in the early part of the 20th century! Many Native Americans tried to help the white settlers but we know how white men treat people who are a different color or don’t follow the beliefs like other European countries! NA were considered less worthy for many, many reasons, forced off of their land…..I could go on and on but shall stop because it’s like beating one’s head against a wall.
This is not a hollywood production. Its what you would call a spaghetti western. Spaghetti westerns were/are typically filmed in Italy or Spain. This one was filmed in Spain. So whatever you’re blathering about, authenticity is not true in the context of this series.
If anything, it feels like other shows Hugo Blick has written. Not story or plot wise but in tone.
Yeah, not really a spaghetti western even though it kind of feels like one. This is an Amazon production in conjunction with the BBC. It’s written and directed by an Englishman.
Feels like it’s deliberately playing against spaghetti western which is a nice extra layer of narrative.
True, in the same way that Africans sold their own people into slavery for greed/personal gain.
🤣
personally, I’ve never seen anything like it either and hope I never do again lol.
Unoriginal? Whats the original storyline you think was copied? And done better?
I said the writing was unoriginal. so corny and cringe. IMHO.
OK. So you are saying the dialogue was rough, not that the overall premise/story was unoriginal.
I thought that as well, but in light of the STD twist much of that dialogue made more sense. And for me added tension as SOMETHING… just wasn’t right….
Stylistically it was kind of Spaghetti/Acid western. Poetical language.
Something I found similar in many ways.. equally good, but stylistically very different:

just saw your post and checked out the link you posted. not the kind of movie i would normally watch, but thinking the trailer was actually pretty good, and since i’m a bit incapacitated at the moment from a shoulder surgery, thus all the lower case, i might go check it out.
am curious, though, if you could give me a better description of what an ‘acid western’ is? never ran into that term before. i’m about to start watching this show here, and something tells me i’m going to wish it was longer then 6 episodes.
I’ve chosen to watch it as a comedy. The hokey dialogue, over-the-top villains, and ridiculous premise make it impossible for me to stomach it any other way.
I can’t believe that Emily Blunt would agree to this. It’s not like she needs money.
ridiculous being the operative word..
