I like - I just binged the first 6. It’s very anime with that Japanese sensibility - so not for everyone. It is served up in self contained individual bite size pieces, some of them I would have liked another taste of. I hope this was a kind of audition and some of these stories get ordered to a season. If you liked the other star wars cartoons, this will please you.

In case no one noticed, a second season of this just aired-I just binged it, and some of the episodes were pretty good.

Conceptually akin to “Love, Death & Robots”, but in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and that is where the resemblances end.
Except for some pretty and creative solutions from the animation studios to some obviously tight budgets, there isn’t much in the way of story or surprise. 6/10

I’ve only watched e01 so perhaps it was just the 1st epi that was mostly black and white with colors only visible on the light sabers. I grew up with black and white TV and frankly don’t find this retro thing appealing at all. To me retro just seems lazy. My only other criticism is the short duration of each clip. Frankly 13 minutes is not an episode it is a clip. Otherwise I enjoyed the story.

Edit: After watching all the episodes I have to say I was glad that the rest of the episodes were in full color. All in a pretty good set of shorts that I found very entertaining.

Bad anime. Very kiddie. Stories and vibe don’t feel like the sweu.

After hearing of this show, had to watch it all in one sitting. This is something Disney should do more if they want to breath life into the star wars franchise. I enjoyed it a lot ! :D some stories where better than others same with the art style but still this is something I really want to see more of. To give artists complete freedom and to just pick and choose a random time and place in a galaxy far far away. It’s exactly this I would like to see in a new star wars movie, maybe that’s why The Ninth Jedi/Lighsaber-smith is my favorite story and art style. It could be done so perfectly if it was a original story like that. ^_^
