The Responder follows Chris, a crisis-stricken, morally compromised, unconventional urgent response officer tackling a series of night shifts on the beat in Liverpool. Whilst trying to keep his head above water both personally and professionally, Chris is forced to take on a new rookie partner Rachel. Both soon discover that survival in this high pressure, relentless, night-time world will depend on them either helping or destroying each other. |

Dark and depressing, hard to watch. Martin Freeman puts on a good performance though.

Dang it! Season 2 starts Sunday and since it has been 2 years since I’ve watched season 1, I’ll have to watch it again, so I won’t be lost when watching season 2. I love British drama series but hate having to wait 2-3 years for a new season to start!
If you’re a fan of Martin Freeman, you can’t miss this one. Best work Freeman has done. I had no problem understanding accents but some may. Probably get some subtitles.
