One of the best mini-series this fall on netflix! I binged watched it in a day.
I did the same. Excellent series.
Binge watch in a day…check. Best mini-series…check, check. Must watch…triple check.
Excellent! Absolutely recommend!
Thank you to the uploaders!
superb acting, script, characters,…and decor.
Great show. Didnt think it was going to be my thing but it was thoroughly entertaining.
Very good series. Thought it might be boring cuz there’s nothing more exciting than watching a chess game right?. I was wrong. You don’t have to know anything about the game to enjoy this series. Believe it or not, you might find yourself actually sitting on the edge of your seat in anticipation of a win.
Thought I’d be able to resist binge watching this and have a more balanced day, but I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day.
if you haven’t seen this then treat yourself and give it a watch.
Hearing how amazing this tv shows from everyone, I had very high expectiations. But it even exceeded that. I am in awe of Anya Taylor-Joy. Her acting is a force to be reckoned with.
Who knew chess could be so exciting? 10/10 ♥
I really really really enjoyed this show. I love chess and I love the story line. It’s a winner!!
Absolutely brilliant. It’s 2am and I’m on epi 3. Looks like it’s gonna be an all-nighter.
2 day binge of an unexpected and surprising story- great acting lovely scenery and 60s-70s cars to drool over -most chess moves /names went right over my head even tho i used to play it as a kid -sadly the story is NOT in anyway a biography but it’s based off a book -the CGI 60s and 70s is damn good
I wanted a different ending. I loved it, don’t get me wrong…but the romantic in me was hoping for a different ending.
A ‘better’ IMDB— https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10048342
Hmmm … I recently heard that there would be a Season 2 … anyone else know anything?
No, Netflix still isn’t making ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ Season 2. It was meant to be a limited series.
It is a good show but it has a very big flaw : we learn absolutely nothing about chess. We often see the characters moving chess pieces on the board but it’s totally fake. Even in the last game, when you expect to see what they play, it is not shown… So in the end, this show is not about chess at all, but it is a drama about an orphan growing up, and alcohol and drugs, etc.. It could have been about soccer, or squash, or anything else…
Did you actually watch the series? I read your comment before i started to watch this, but halfway in i can’t disagree more with you. They name and explain various tactics and playstyles, but still make it watchable for the people who’r not into chess. But, Even if it where true what you stated, it still wouldnt be a flaw. This series is about passion and dedication for what you love, archieving goals, learning and growing, something most of us can perfectly relate too. Thats why this series is so good IMO
