It’s based on the graphic novels but hasn’t translated well to screen, imo. It’s a weird mix of modern language and music set in Victorian London. I’m not quite sure who their target demographic was. It feels like it wants to be a PG Doctor Who type show but has far too much cursing and bloody-violence for a pre-watershed audience. It’s rated TV-14, but some parents may have an issue with their young teens watching mature content. You’ve been warned.

First episode was ok. Still seems strange to put supernatural causes in something as logically-driven as Sherlock Holmes - but others have done similar in written work (e.g., The Cthulhu Chronicles series of Sherlock Holmes). There are some definite anachronisms in the language that they use — definitely not Victorian England — but I plan to keep watching the series and see how it plays out in the long run.
Just finished episode 4. Man this is pretty good so far. Has kept me interested from the beginning. Thanks for the uploads!
shoulda made this steampunk woulda made it better, taken away all the objections people seem to have. story is intriguing, acting well done production values high, compelling characters. still feel a steampunk element would have pushed it into the next level….

Frankly and ironically, that makes it more likely I may watch it. The description seems a mish-mash trying to cram overdone supernatural memes with Sherlock Holmes mystery crime drama. Meh. But I do like single-season binges occasionally. I may bookmark it and give it a try.
I honestly watched it thinking I’d hate it bc it DOES sound ridiculous. But I honestly quite liked it. I think adding supernatural shit to it made it pretty interesting and enjoyed all the acting. He wasn’t like any other Sherlock I’ve personally seen and I’ve watched a ton of Holmes adaptations lol I hope you watch it and I hope you enjoy it! I’m still upset they’ve canceled it lol

I just finished ep 1, thot it was pretty good. Was worried it was gonna be all teenie dramaqueen crap but there’s just small, tolerable doses of that stuff. So far, anyway.
I watched until episode 2 - I’m not buying the supernatural Sherlock Holmes thing.
