In the midst of the Bosnian War, Mirza and his grandmother are left to fend for themselves until a stranger enters their lives. As her health worsens she convinces her friend Elma to take Mirza across the border. The disappointed Mirza is unwilling to leave his grandmother, and slowly the truth about the new stranger Lazar is revealed as the grandmother copes with her sins, Mirza with his isolation, and Lazar with the truth that binds him to these two people. |
