The film opens with Max Schreck and Greta Schröder meeting at a bus stop. They reflect on the times they have met before and on how they both have a German background. Greta then leaves when her bus arrives. Greta meets with Max again the next day and they discuss how Max sees Greta as a very special individual. Greta asks Max on a date, to which he agrees. They meet later that night and go for a walk. Max asks about her crucifix necklace and she explains it is a good luck charm. Max insists on her taking it off and she agrees. They go to an Italian restaurant and seat themselves. When a waiter offers Max garlic bread, he turns it down saying “he’s not in a garlic bread mood.” Greta asks questions about Max, and it is revealed that Max had a family who were all slaughtered for being different then everyone else. He explains that, because of what happened to his family, he is afraid of being himself. Greta assures him that he can be whoever he is and he will still be loved. On the walk back home, Greta and Max kiss. The following morning, Greta goes to the bus stop, only to find a note from Max. She feels a pain in her neck, which turns out to be to fang marks… |
