A student protest march in the streets of Caienna, on a muggy night in French Guyana. They shout through their megaphones, calling for respect and the right to study. The voice of an elderly teacher and union organizer, Jean Mariema, recalls past struggles, searches for traces of them in the present protest and mixes, in a dialog that never took place, with that of André Malraux, the Minister of Culture of the De Gaulle government at the time. |
