Set in 1970s Toronto, Trailing Arbutus is a story about obsession, repressed desire and discovering true love too late. On stage, Famous British flower arranger, Timothy Arbutus, delights his audience with his colorful bouquets and banter but backstage, a dark drama unfolds. Fitzrooy, his devoted manservant has just learned he is being replaced by Larry, the hot young stage manager and Arbutus’ latest fling. Distraught, the straight-laced Fitzrooy follows the two lovers into Toronto’s gay underworld, determined to prove his love.
