‘Who Killed Duanna Johnson?’ is an intimate look into the mysterious circumstances of her 2008 murder. Johnson, a transgender woman was in the middle of a lawsuit against the city of Memphis when she was found dead, shot in the head ‘execution style’ just weeks before her case was to go to trail. Her lawsuit claimed that while she was being arrested on charges of prostitution, she was physically beaten by 2 Memphis police officers after she refused to respond to anti-gay and anti-transgender slurs. The assault was captured on video and caused the 2 officers to lose there jobs. Weeks later she was dead. |
