‘Avaritia’ tells the story of a man trapped in a world of his own making and choosing. Obsessed by money he has been corrupted by banking institutions. Alone and without love he searches for someone to be his companion. Shot for a very small budget, ‘Avaritia’ uses a totally new filming technique developed over three years specially for this film. Influenced by both German Expressionism and Surrealist cinema, the film is a metaphor for the two opposing worlds of Capitalism and Commercialism. It implies that these institutions cannot exist together as one, but as a couple they depend on each other to survive; like two sides of the same coin. |
