It is the Fall of 1999. A sudden barrage of terror attacks in Russia drives Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to order a second massive invasion of the breakaway republic of Chechnya. Dogadko, a neophyte Russian soldier, finds himself lost in a world of lawlessness, inhumanity, and endless hatred. After a deadly falling out with his commanding officer, Dogadko flees into the Chechen wilderness. He soon encounters a strange Chechen girl named Ajmani who grants him refuge in her isolated village. With a militant brother fighting against the Russian army, Ajmani cannot keep Dogadko’s presence a secret forever. |
