Mr Dutilleul invites his boss to dinner at his home, expecting to create a good enough impression to get a promotion. Before he arrives, his wife dismisses her maid. Finding the crisis at home, Dutilleul goes out to buy cigarettes. Meanwhile, Mr Pavillon arrives, takes Mrs Dutilleul for a maid (as she wearing an apron over the dress), and neither she, nor her husband, tell him the truth. Dinner must be ready, and be served, as Mrs Dutilleul pays attention to the guest of the house, nevertheless…
