Henrik Kurt Carlsen became world famous 50 years ago as the fearless Captain who stayed on board his faltering ship. For 13 days he was on the front page of every newspaper, and the whole world held its breath as he fought to save The Flying Enterprise. All though the ship finally sank off the British coast, when Carlsen reached the shore he was received like a conquering hero.
