VAST is a screen adaptation of the unoriginal novel of the same name by Doug Huston, Art Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Originally published in 1994, Huston gathered words and phrases from dozens of classic western pulp novels and reassembled them into VAST. To honor the quirky, exaggerated nature of this new Western tale, we used plastic cowboys and horses as the main characters. The entire project was filmed in Marfa, TX and surrounding area. |
