Eternal is a film shot in Palestine built around the idea that if you suppress a people’s rights you are also attacking their culture. The dance begins as a traditional lament but as others join in it becomes an angry demonstration in the street. Meanwhile a icon painter in a church in the same town is aware of the force of anger outside. His dance ends with him protecting a sacred olive oil lamp - a symbol of hope in Palestine. |
