In a failing marriage filled with silence and despair, Miko and Kenji Oniki appear to maintain a polite, if somewhat distant, coexistence. On a frigid afternoon, Kenji encounters a violent thunderstorm. That night, he collapses with a high fever. His vulnerable state provides an opportunity for Miko to play the role of caregiver. However, Kenji’s drug-induced reliance on Miko opens cracks in the veneer of their strained relationship, which has been damaged by lies and betrayal.
