In a failing marriage filled with silence and despair, Miko and Kenji Oniki appear to maintain a polite, if somewhat distant, coexistence. On a frigid afternoon, Kenji encounters a violent thunderstorm. That night, he collapses with a high fever. His vulnerable state provides an opportunity for Miko to play the role of caregiver. However, Kenji’s drug-induced reliance on Miko opens cracks in the veneer of their strained relationship, which has been damaged by lies and betrayal. The deterioration of Kenji’s physical condition shifts the delicate balance of power. With Miko in control, the dark truths will surface, and their lives will change forever. |
