Robert Grey is a stressed out, indebted Louisiana public defender hoping to pay off his school loans and move back to Oregon. However, a crooked Judge has different ideas. Angered by Grey’s repeated complaints to the judicial conduct board, the Judge wants to see that Grey is not only fired, but disgraced. So the Judge appoints him the worst defendants that come to his court. And when the public defenders office takes out a huge malpractice insurance policy, Grey is told that if he has one more incident, he’ll be fired. Along comes internet trained pet shrink Dr. Karl. After “treating” a rich woman’s depressed dog, he is arrested and brought to court for fraud. Dr. Karl is a defendant from hell, so of course, the Judge appoints him to Grey. The only bright spot in Grey’s life is Sienna, a beautiful young reporter assigned to the Court beat. Can Grey defend a lunatic, keep his job, pay off his school loans, and win the girl of his dreams all without losing his sanity?
