For 50 years a romeria pilgrimage celebration has been held on the Malangosto Pass (Guadarrama Ranges), held at the highest altitude for any such event in all Europe (almost 2000 m.). At the summit there is a dramatized reading from the passage in the Book of Good Love that commemorates the encounter between Juan Ruiz, Archpriest of Hita, and La Chata, a mountain woman who lived near the pass. |
