Laia is a young girl stricken with a very low level of self-esteem to such a degree that she is unable to believe that Gerard, the most good-looking and most popular boy in the school who can have any girl he wants, could ever be interested in her. Having low self-esteem not only blinds her to her surroundings, but also twists her vision of reality by leading her to believe that all who intend to befriend her instead wish to harm her. One day however, this changes and she is able to see herself as being no different from the other girls in her class who is even able to attract the best looking of the boys.
