“Sour Honey” is a film about three college roommates looking for love in New York City. Two of the girls, Natalie and Lucy, are down on luck with guys, as they both constantly find the flaws they fear the most in every potential date they go on. The third roommate, Suzanne, constantly nags the girls about needing to look past these flaws, and find the good in everyone. She convinces them to go on another date, and both Natalie and Lucy finally give in. Natalie’s date goes horribly wrong, as the man she goes out with is exactly what she hates the most; arrogant and sexually aggressive. Lucy’s date is also not to her liking; he is extremely awkward and barely says a word. After the two girls make their last attempt at dating for a while, they learn that Suzanne has also found herself a date, and of course for her, the date goes well. Suzanne ends up bringing her date, Boris, home. In this moment, Natalie and Lucy realize that Boris is the same guy that all three of them have just gone out with. But to their surprise, Boris acts completely normal, civilized, and polite with Suzanne. The lesson learned is that because Suzanne looked a little deeper, she found the best in Boris.
