When Vera’s ‘Benz’ breaks down, she calls what she thinks is ARA - the Automobile Roadside Association - but gets mistakenly connected to a different ARA - the Addiction Recovery Alliance. She speaks with Jan, a new trainee, who misinterprets her explanation so badly that the ARA is thrown into crisis mode to ‘bring in the addict.’ Leading the effort is Alan, a renowned rehab guru, who takes this opportunity to show Jan the ropes. When Alan and Jan meet up with Vera in a diner, no one understands the mix-up until Vera’s passive-aggressive husband shows up and Alan’s intervention team moves in to neutralize the ‘enabler.’ |
