Rita is a contemporary story about a loneliness and social awkwardness. A beautiful obese girls desperation to belong. It is Rita’s sixteenth birthday and today it is more important than ever that she feels loved. Her mother is giving her a birthday party she doesn’t want. Her father is giving her attention she doesn’t want. At school the only people interested in her 16th party are the three bullies who normally make her life hell. But will she join them? Will she end the day alone giving in to her compulsive overeating? Or will she let in the only person who really feels for her? |
