Floating body is based on a performance by Tyr Jami (cello and voice), Jasa Baka (visual projections and costumes) and Julia Thomas (choreography and dance), that was originally played in Montreal and in New York. The abstract narrative follows one body as it morphs through several folkloric archetypes. Granny goes for a ride and her headlights hit the Fawn as she is driving through the forest. The Fawn dies but its body resurrects as a puppet. It gets seduced by the Wolf and goes through a ‘re death’. The Hunter thinks he has saved the day with his gun but the true solution is in the key of the Priestess. |
