This feature-length documentary showcases the stories of a number of alcoholics and/or addicts individuals telling their stories. The film hopes to communicate to other people who may be suffering, or may have people in their lives who are suffering, that they are not alone, that there is a way out of our hell. Unlike most other films on the subjects, the subjects are all in recovery and there are no experts - medical, psychiatric, social, legal - just the voices of those in recovery. Music by Mary Gauthier, the Grateful Dead, Amy Mill an, and others is woven through the film, helping to create a sense of melancholia, and even nostalgia, of the ex-drinker and ex-addict. |
