At The Tree Line is a fable like short depicting a woman brought to the edge of her sanity when thrown into a harsh landscape. Tess and her boyfriend journey to her abandoned family home, where upon arrival, Tess suddenly finds herself alone and marooned in this cold and hostile family home. As the days pass the house reveals surreal signs of a disturbing familial history. The boundaries between reality and fiction blur as she begins a destructive relationship with a near by vindictive neighbor who brings her scraps of food. Both Tess and the narrative become stuck on a teetering edge from which they cannot escape or progress. |
