Details:

This travelogue starts in the Valley of the Kings at the tomb of King Tutankhamun, then it’s on to the Valley of the Nile: the Colossi of Memnon, Luxor, Karmak, and the ancient city of Thebes. It concludes with a look at modern life along the great river where 13 million people live bordered by desert. The film’s narration has a thesis: that little has changed in these regions in more than 3000 years: ancient Egypt is present-day Egypt. We see irrigation using wheels and oxen and using the shaduf; we watch women get water at a desert well. As the sun sets, a romantic song adds to the mood.
