Makes you wonder why this movie wasn’t a smash hit, but it has become a clasic RIP Mr Candy gone way too soon 10-10
ok ok, now you’ve convinced me to finally watch this. I’m about to be 43 and haven’t watch this once
Everyone forgets that this is a John Hughes film. I’ll never forget the experience of watching this at age 9, essentially the same age Macaulay Culkin was in the film.. I wanted Buck to be my uncle too!
lol
ack! thats a sin! lol. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for the upload of this comedy classic! you people are the greatest
One of John Candy’s best and that’s saying a lot. If you haven’t seen this wonderfully funny gem, make sure you do and get some tissue to mop up tears and spit from all the hee hawing. No one could make us laugh like Candy. What a guy.
back when you still needed tin foil on antennas to get the good shows late at nite, sctv was rite there with john candy for my preteen naughty laugh fix. we missed his best I’m sure. also planes, trains and automobiles!!!!!!!! top of his game with Steve Martian.
Good old Uncle BuckRIP John Candy
If you liked this, you should check out ‘Summer Rental’ and ‘The Great Outdoors’, both Candy movies.
“Summer Rental” is very underrated.
Yep! I’ve got to watch it on my next day off work. lol
I watched it again yesterday for about the 20th time. Never gets old.
One of John Candys BEST imo..but then again, aren’t they ALL amazing? The guy was a legend…It’s nice that i grew up just down the street from where he did, i always felt a connection with the man i guess being from the same neighborhood (just different generations)…anyways, Uncle Buck is one of my top 3 faves…another is Who’s Harry Crumb and thirdly, i think its a tie between The Great Outdoors and Planes, Trains and Automobiles…as for Uncle Buck starring a very young Mackauly Culkin in his first movie role prior to Home Alone, i give this a solid 10/10 for great comedy and a great coming of age story. Thanks Uploaders!!
planes trains and and automobiles is my fav candy movie followed by uncle buck ( we all wanted him as an uncle) guy just oozed talent and that smile of his was infectious
Thanks, Canuckian, for reminding me of this late (RIP) actor’s works!
As such, I have now watched them all, including one you missed mentioning above: 1991’s Delirious!
Also one of his best (imo) and highly recommended for everyone else to see!
Don’t forget “Brewster’s Millions” where he played a supporting role to the legendary Richard Pryor..another one of my faves when i was a kid. ;) Cheers Robo! Don’t think i have ever seen Delirious..going on my watch list now! Thanks!
So far who’s Harry Crumb doesn’t seem like that great of a movie so I don’t see why you put it as a top movie for John Candy
I’m watching who’s Harry Crumb we will see how great it actually is by the end of the movie and what you mean by putting it as his greatest
This is such a great classic family comedy. I looked forward to watching this every time it came on TV when I was a kid. I still love it now. It’s really too bad John Candy is gone; he really was a legend. Who honestly wouldn’t want Buck to be their odd uncle? I know I would LOL
I highly recommend this film to anybody looking for a camp family comedy. It’s worth the watch. 10/10
I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve battled depression throughout my life & when the blues turn black I need a medical fix STAT! Calling Dr. Russell, Dr. Buck Russell you are needed immediately in the ER (or my PC or DVD player). I LOVE so many of his movies. If I had to pick my #1 I’m afraid it’s a tie between “Uncle Buck” & the ONLY Thanksgiving movie that ever comes to my mind, “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”. Brilliant chemistry with John Candy & Steve Martin, lots of laughs & several touching/sweet moments. DAMMIT!! Now that I’ve written this I’m gonna make it a double-header tonight with Uncle Buck & Planes, Trains & Automobiles. as soon as my popcorn is ready
RIP JC Always missed. Great classic.
“I’m Buck Melanoma, Moley Russell’s wart.”
“I’M the wart. She’s my tumor. My growth. My pimple.”
In 2022 this movie is still a classic. Rip John Candy
uncle buck baby !
Love this i never seen non tv version which i mean everything not cutout it has me laughing so hard its historically funny
Classic holiday fare that makes Xmas bearable in this time of commercialism and horrible, greedy capitalism. Love John. Miss him.
Candy is a lot like our brother whom we lost a while ago, so we love it since we see so much of him in John. It has a near perfect cast for this film, including Warhol actress Viva’s child Gaby Hoffmann from The Crystal Fairy & Wild, and also Jean Louisa Kelly who went on to do Yes Dear & The Cyberstalking.
TIA uploaders. This is a great movie. John Candy was priceless in everything he did as far as I remember. Some stuff he did in SCTV in the mid ‘70s was very good & improved some poor sketches. RIP
Nostalgia!!
