Details:

Gunar Bertram visited Cambodia in 1978 which then was governed by one of the most terror filled regimes in the 20Th century. He was invited especially to show the world that Pol Pot vision of the perfect society was true and to belie all reports seeping out of refugee camps. In the national TV news as well as in printed media he denied refuges stories of torture, starvation and genocide. Gunar returns now to Cambodia after thirty years, to find a country dealing with the aftermath of genocide. During the course of his journey he is examining his own role in the terror that engulfed the country and exterminated one fourth of its population.
