SPECTRUM ADDICT: LOAD “FILM2” is a full-length documentary feature film which takes a detailed look at the ZX Spectrum, its history, developers, games and fans. A tribute to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, this is the second in a series and further explores the games, hardware, developers, homebrew scene and the future of the next generation… As well as veterans from the first film, we also interview legends such as Mel Croucher (Automata), Jon Ritman (Match Day, Head Over Heels), Gary Bracey (OCEAN Software), Fergus McNeill (Delta4), Nick Roberts (CRASH), Phil South (Your Sinclair) and Lyndon J. Sharp (WASP) amongst many others. Retro Gamer Magazine awarded Memoirs of a Spectrum Addict “PICK OF THE MONTH” and they said lots of nice things about the film, such as: “It gives a charming insight into why so many people love Sir Clive Sinclair’s 8-bit micro” and “there’s a heart and personality to Memoirs which is missing from many of its peers” and “This passion is best summed up in the re-enactments, which show a young Andy opening his first Spectrum and snuggling up in bed to read the latest issue of Crash magazine…” and “It’s a delightful labour of love”. What the developers and critics say: Mark R. Jones (Gryzor, Wizball) - “At last, theZX Spectrum has its first film! Future generations will now be able to experience what it was like.” Steve Turner (Avalon, Dragontorc, Quazatron) - “We loved the film, it was both interesting and very nostalgic, I am sure Spectrum fans will also love it. I thought you had really captured the spirit and dedication in the interviews.” Jim Bagley (Cabal, Midnight Resistance) - “An awesome peek behind the scenes of the ZX Spectrum’s part in the games industry.” Simon Butler (NOMAD, The NeverEnding Story) - “A window to the past that shaped the future of games.” Jas Austin (Rex, The Fury, Slaine) - “So proud to be a part of this unmissable documentary… brought back so many wonderful memories!” Andy Spencer (Retro Computer Museum) - “A fantastic journey in to what it was like to actually be part of something very special - the ZX Spectrum… absolutely fantastic!” Andy Russell - “I meant to watch 10 minutes as I have a deadline for work tomorrow but it was bloody awesome and I loved every minute… thank you just so much for this film, you must have put your heart and soul into this… I genuinely can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a film this much and I was gutted when the credits rolled. You sir, rock!” Neil Davies - “My wife is not happy with you as the film changed out Saturday afternoon plans! Lol. Love the film, enjoyed it from start to finish. A lot of happy memories. I’ll salvage what’s left of Saturday afternoon - if the Mrs is still talking to me!” Original Music by Rob Shedwick. In-game capture by Dave Bulwer. Assistant Director Roy Young.
