August 14th is Oppenheimer’s birthday & VJ Day. This controversial film is half-century overdue. The complicated brilliant conflicted vilified scientist was portrayed well by Murphy. Downey, Damon, Pugh, Blunt, even Mr. Robot himself & several others turned it in for this must-see film.
On a lighter note, surely the rascals that smear their ads on a film that they didn’t make have to realize that they are obnoxious, trashy, tacky, reviled & that no one who is irritated by their logo feces will ever, not ever in a million years ever visit their sketchy website.
Three hours long and I started to feel it about 1/2 hour before the end but it was worth it because it was a lot to his life story. I recommend it for a watch, just pop plenty of popcorn.
“Director Christopher Nolan recently revealed “Oppenheimer” is his longest film yet. Now, we know just how long the film is — literally. The movie is set to run in 30 IMAX theaters, and the reel of 70mm film is a whopping 11 miles long, Nolan said. Only 30 IMAX locations worldwide have the capability to play the 600-pound IMAX 70mm reel. There are only 30 theaters worldwide, including 19 in the U.S., screening Oppenheimer in that format including the AMC Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles, the AMC Lincoln Square in New York, the Cinemark Dallas, the Regal King of Prussia near Philadelphia and the AutoNation IMAX in Fort Lauderdale.” The whole 3-hour movie won’t be seen in my home state because there isn’t a theater that can show such a massive film.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0sSPdv3nme0 It’s from this video, I have to assume it was a Joke, but I don’t know. It was just to go with the fact you were saying this is Nolans “Longest” movie. I wasn’t being a troll or trying instigate anything
So where is one able to see the film outside of those theaters? I’m lucky, we have 2 of those theaters in my area but frankly I’m not going to watch it. I could care less about this film.
They built a whole town yet decided to put a basketball hoop above the fire place 2:05 min, in new mexico. so far the movie is pretty good but need to have a break but i’m just wondering how the built the whole town and never thought of a furnace or perhaps central heating came after the bombs lol. its good so far im 2 hours in and the only thing i wish i saw more of is actual military action but i should have gleaned from the title that it wasn’t about to be a band of brothers remake. and RDJ looks his age now

Yay! Finally! A good copy’s out.
(Seems like it took forever but it was actually only ~3 1/2 months).
The wait is over!
Wow. Incredible tale.
Instant classic.

If you’re in Ontario close to Toronto then it’s playing in the Whitby and Oshawa theaters as well as a few in Toronto itself :)

I probably won’t either since I know what happened and I read a few years ago that he wished he had never created the bomb.
Boring movie I’d rather watch peacock or red lights

AAARRRGGG Can’t find subs! Wanted to watch this with my deaf 93-yr-old dad. Cillian Murphey as Openheimer will be phenomenal.
starphlo, check your messages, I have found a list of links where you can upload subtitles to movies and tv shows that don’t have subtitles.
Oh Piglet!!! Thank you thank you!!!
Very welcome and I do hope that one or more will work! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Hello Piglet, could I also get the subtitle links pretty please when you get time?? Biggest thanks
Just go to Opensubtitles (or Subscene) and get any subs you want.
I’ll send you a message and I provided more than one. I clicked onto subtitles on a few links and it said “no subtitles”.
Thanks Piglet you rock!!!!
Now that this is a Best Picture Academy Award Winner, it will cost three times as much to watch on this site as it did one week ago.
