this was great, it was a Wes Anderson film. Two and a half stars of people….once again not understanding it’s a WES ANDERSON FILM. I loved it 9/10

mkmikas 3 points 1 year ago.

i thought it was one of the best ones, with narratives and relationships and the unknownses, layers. dreamy. and those colours were crazy well done. im always a little confused emotionally after watching these though..

GeminiSaga 3 points 1 year ago*.

Obviously the directing, cinematography, acting, set craftsmanship etc are excellent but it’s all negated by the lack of an engaging story and character development. It feels more like an excuse to cast a dozen of famous actors.
The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou were excellent, this is not it.

Cannot wait for this! Wes Anderson takes on the space race, with pretty colors.

Gnostic_Alchemist 0 points 1 year ago. 2/5 stars.

Horrible movie not even recommended as background noise if you’re vacuuming

Alien 3 points 1 year ago.

You just don’t get Wes Anderson. For one thing, he doesn’t make horrible movies. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s horrible. For another thing, if you cared to do some research, you’d find that he uses many of the same actors in his movies. Lastly, actors would give anything to be in one. Oh, one more thing. They are all A-listers.

All that being said, I can’t sit through all of Anderson’s movies, he is an acquired taste after all. But there are some I absolutely love.

Ahem

lol

I agree on most every one of your points here. I’ve watched all his films & love them all to varying degrees but have yet to be unable to sit through one of his films. The acting can be difficult to sit through due to it being at times very dry & staid but it’s done w/the purpose of telling the story & message w/o the bother of emotions getting in the way too much. I do need to be in a particular mood to watch his movies & yes, they are definitely an acquired taste. My first WA movie was The Royal Tenenbaums which I bought w/o seeing anything about it. The cast alone drew me in. My favorite WA movie is The Darjeeling Limited due to the chemistry between the 3 main character brothers. They are so funny. I also really love the beautiful landscapes of India & the vivid colors shown in the set design. Just a visually striking film.

Moonrise Kingdom, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Grand Budapest Hotel along with The Darjeeling Limited are my favorites. His casts are always remarkable.

Heya, Alien ! Willem Defoe as the evil henchman was the best !

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

They’re all great in their own way. Just the worlds he creates w/his production design team are so amazingly intricate & fascinating.

Alien 1 points 1 year ago.

A lot of talent there.

Mandalorian -1 points 1 year ago. 1/5 stars.

The worst thing I ever seen. I couldn’t finish it. I want those 35 min of my life back. Zero stars.

greenguy86 1 points 1 year ago.

I can never watch a Wes Anderson film. A very overrated director. All his films are shite.

Mandalorian -3 points 1 year ago. 1/5 stars.

Finally, Someone with common sense and understands that not everyone needs a psychedelic flash back. I watched this for Tom Hanks but have to rethink his movies.

I watched the trailer for this last week and it looked pretty dumb

Horrible movie… thank God my wife was there to shake me out of the coma induced by this slug of a movie.Inconcievable that the many big stars allowed their names to be attached to this turd.

Tinybroespesso 1 points 1 year ago.

Trailer looks cool bill Murray should be in this to it has a The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou feel to it

BladesofTroy 5 points 1 year ago.

It’s almost as if the same person made both films…

Alien 2 points 1 year ago.

Ha!

Looks amazing & bizarre. A true Wes Anderson movie. Love his films! I’ll do a review after I watch it.

grasshopper rex 2 points 1 year ago. 5/5 stars.

I’m champing at the bit to watch this, but waiting for a better copy so I can view it in all it’s pastel glory.

Alien 2 points 1 year ago.

The pony whinnied and tossed his head happily!

grasshopper rex 1 points 1 year ago. 5/5 stars.

Yes, I’m feeling my oats. :)

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

Yes a WA film by cam would not be enjoyable. at. all.
