On September 13, 1971 the State of New York shot and killed 39 of its own citizens, injured hundreds more, and tortured the survivors. The plan to retake D Yard led to one of the bloodiest days in American history, and set the stage for the worst aspects of modern policing. Radical lawyer Elizabeth Fink tells the story of the Attica prison rebellion, and how she exposed the cover up that went on for decades. |

Great documentary. I grew up in a penitentiary town. My mother retired from working at one of them called Millhaven. I got to know many guards and I can tell you all the ones I got to know over the years were drunks, abusive and criminal sociopaths. Worse if not just as bad as any criminal I’ve met. 5/5 on the doc by the way, a must watch
Wow, SMH.. Completely disgusting and no surprise there that the “powers that be” would lie! In fact, lying and trying to conceal the truth all the while at times innocently framing others must be Politician 101! It is truly sad and depressing to a society as a whole that so many years have passed, but not enough of the thoughts and actions of the still too many small-minded racist people that plague us today.
