Another great DC animation starring Flash. Shows just how he’s important to the DC universe with his power. I only wish they showed more JSA members but it explained why they didn’t. Just good action and storytelling so you won’t be disappointed.
Kid Kryptonite, I agree with you wholeheartedly.
well said i totally agree !
Animation really nice. Classic Barry!
When he said, “Right, I saw that movie,” I gigglesnorted.
honest review:
first off, visuals are great. I really like this new Archer-like art style. Animation comes smooth and movements are easy to follow. Wonder woman’s design is possibly the best yet in the DCAU. and yeah, I always like seeing jay garrick even if his costume is so wacky lol
story wise, its an eh, ok. it was all over the place, the main plot point seemed unclear until the end, where it was supposed to be about forming a superhero team. Flash seemed like yeah whatever, after being suddenly teleported to a completely different earth and it didnt even bother to mention what was he doing before.
some noticeable plot holes are also present, such as canary suddenly in steve’s plane crash (she’s just running while the others are flying, jumping, or running in supersonic) and people suddenly knowing how to operate atlantis tech.
all the heroes seemed to be goody-two-shoes. not much variation on their character. the villains, i think they kind of lost track on this one. the nazis had a big setup but nothing came out of it and they just pulled out the atlanteans half-baked. some exposition is also lacking, shakespeare really got the short end of the stick
all in all its a meh to ok movie. I’m not sure if this was a stand alone movie or some sort of a reboot to the recently ended movie series, but this would be a good starter movie for a brand new universe since it introduces some new and unexposed elements if they ever wish to expand on that. 3/5 if a reboot, 2/5 if standalone.
These are only ever as good as the cast of voice actors and this has a solid cast. As someone else pointed out, the animation is top-notch and everything looks great. FDR looks JUST LIKE FDR. And this movie had just about everything—even a kaijuu! I was a little disappointed that there was no dieselpunk iteration of Batman in this alternate universe but I guess you can’t have everything, right? This was every bit as fun as Superman: Red Son (2020) was.
I was more than a little concerned when AT&T took over Time-Warner and sent corporate goons to DC HQ in New York to unceremoniously sack just about everyone in the building. The future of the DC cinematic and animated universes seemed really uncertain. But, credit where credit’s due, the kickass animated films continue to roll out uninterrupted (plus they renewed Harley Quinn for another season on HBO MAX!). And that’s good because it’s where DC has always had a leg-up on Marvel. Marvel’s animated movies aren’t terrible but they’re not as good as the big budget MCU live-action films made with all that Disney mulah.
wonder woman beating up nazis and smashing up german tanks - whats not to love ? -good animation too
I enjoy the DC comics that have been turned into movie, brings back memories of my childhood. Being a comic book fan, these movies have been a source of communicating with my son and my nieces and nephews, but what I don’t like is the cursing. It just doesn’t have too be. The Justice Society of America, the before the Justice League group I love it.
That was stupid and a complete waste of time. I do not understand all the praise, the story is full of holes and logical inconsistencies, even for a superhero animated film, it was too much.
