Extracted features 12 untrained competitors attempting to survive extremely grueling conditions, perilous terrain, and the threat of fearsome predators in the unforgiving Canadian wilderness. Meanwhile, some miles away, their family members are locked down at a secluded headquarters watching them navigate their dangerous surroundings alone via a 24/7 live feed. The fate of each untrained contestant in the wilderness lies in the hands of their family members back in HQ. Each amateur survivalist's family has the power to decide whether their loved one has what it takes to brave the elements and fight to be the last one standing, or whether the family will push the ominous "Extract" button and remove their loved one and their whole family from the competition. Extracted begs the question: how far will their loved ones let them go for a chance for their family to win $250,000? |

Looks like a bunch of affluent idiots imo.
bin fun too watch, but i like this shit.
Just watched the trailer. I do enjoy watching Alone as the participants are trained survivalists. I appreciate how they value nature, and I can learn something new almost every time by watching them. This show, on the other hand, is not my cup of tea. In my opinion, this appeals to the lowest instincts and behavior of participants and viewers alike: voyeurism, schadenfreude, greed, betrayal, envy, and an utter lack of scruples. I will not watch it for certain, and I am somewhat disappointed by the creators of Alone for developing this format.
You got all that from the 30 second trailer ?
They appear to have taken Alone and added gameshow elements to it. Not sure on how having all the families in one room is going to fit with having all the contestants not together.
I suspect we will have plenty of scripted drama in the family studio.
It looks pretty bad tv and I share your pessimism about the behaviour of the contestants, especially the families.
