The winemaker’s daughter Laura doesn’t know what special talent she has as a singer and songwriter. Since her mother’s death, there has been little time for music anyway: the eldest of three daughters has to help her father, who is overwhelmed with the winery and the inn. When Laura steps in for her sister Nina at a wedding party, who, as the accompaniment of pop star Sunny, serenades the bride with excitement, breaks his voice with an unexpected chance. Sunny’s manager Vincent asks Laura on the spot if she would like to take part in a duet contest with his famous protégé. However, her dream bursts after a car accident caused by the drunk Sunny. In order to relieve him, Nina even wants to make a false statement - if she can sing for Laura’s place. While Sunny gets involved in blackmail and, as usual, passes the buck to his manager, Vincent goes decidedly too far. He’s fed up with Sunny anyway and finally wants to revive his own musical dreams. Vincent expects Laura to have a good chance at the contest to leave his ex-partner and the talent-free Nina behind. Winning Laura to compete against her own sister is anything but easy after her disappointment. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with show business any more than with it. Vincent, who is not only impressed by her voice, is not easily discouraged, however.
