“My plan was to die before the money ran out,” says 60-year-old penniless Manhattan socialite Frances Price, but things didn’t go as planned. Her husband Franklin has been dead for 12 years and with his vast inheritance gone, she cashes in the last of her possessions and resolves to live out her twilight days anonymously in a borrowed apartment in Paris, accompanied by her directionless son Malcolm and a cat named Small Frank-who may or may not embody the spirit of Frances’s dead husband. |

It’s Frances Price, she’s just so weirdly fascinating !
Keeping in mind this movie is based on a book with the same title by Patrick deWitt 2018 I suppose the writers and director needed to follow the storyline. The characters were so strange and bizarre it was funny, but Michelle Pfeiffer played it so seriously I felt more like a drama. Anyway thanks for providing links. I requested this one.
i loved it. i didn’t mind spending two hours with these characters. they were strange. it was interesting. so much casual arrogance. i wasn’t left wanting more, in fact i was ready for it’s ending before the last 15 mins but there is something about this script that affected me for the better. and i’m happy i watched it. the characters didn’t make me happy, though they were arresting in their own right. but i’m happy all the same.
5/5. Loved the entire story, Michele was stellar and the dark overtones of the humor was lovely to see in a movie these days. The suicidal theme was perfect.
This was strange but interesting. A bit Wes Andersonian (but not as good). Michelle Pfeiffer was outstanding really!
boring, slow and waste of time
