Set in Greenland’s icy, cold weather, two individuals meet only to unfold a mystery. Elaisa Svendsen is a middle-aged Filipino woman who lives in Nuuk. She has been a widow for some years and has a testy relationship with her rebellious young-adult son Karl Kleist. They have been estranged for some time because her interference in his love life cost him the girl he truly loved. One day, desperate for her vodka-and-Prozac fix, she meets visiting Filipino seaman Mark Alvarez at the pharmacy. Friendly and caring, Mark lends Elaisa a helping hand with her many problems. But just when she thinks some sun is shining through in her life, a blizzard threatens to cause further havoc in her life. |
