Pugh, Pugh, Pugh. And then library pr0n.
You got here first! Been looking forward to this one…especially since “The Laundromat”
The big tagline going round reviews was it’s the best Woody Allen never made [he did come to mind; social veneers and whatnot], but this was a finer maturity. Really, watched it for Bergen’s withering stare more than Streep’s haughty humanity.
And Blodwyn Pugh, just the name, appears to’ve been taken from a character created as an alter-ego for another character in ‘I Sent a Letter to My Love’ by Bernice Reubens, who also wrote Madame Sousatzka.
Streep, Wiest, Bergen, what a treat. Crossed the Atlantic on a ship once, not quite the Queen Elizabeth, more like a freighter, but watching this makes me want to sail across again.
