Stuttering Roscoe Ates, billed as Rosco Ates, gets a job as a barber’s helper, While the barber is out of the shop, the baddest man in the West, Warner Richmond, who kills sheriffs because it’s part of his job description, drops in for a shave. Leaving him in the chair, Rosco wanders out into the streets where the locals are drawing straws to see who replaces the recently-killed sheriff. The nervous Rosco keeps biting the end off his straw, and is appointed sheriff. Back in the barber shop, the Bad Man forces Rosco to go rob the bank with him. |
