“When Hollywood Actors like Robert Redford become oil sands experts, then oil sands experts must become actors.” Based on a true story “My Tar Sands Duck Dinner with Andrea” is a monologue. Ms. Eco-fem Andrea Andreana addresses her off-screen boyfriend gone bad - he’s an oil sands engineer! A spoof on Louis Malle’s “My Dinner with Andre” - Andrea accepts his invitation to lunch. He’s buying and she’s well…..unemployed. Oh, she’s busy working on all her eco-campaigns, but she refuses to support the Canadian Petro-state that supports her by getting a job. Their tete a tete moves from fond memories into eco-warrior worship, interrupted by a video playback by an oil sands expert. Shocked and dismayed, Andrea agrees to listen but only barely. |
